Super Thrifty Drugs is recruiting a permanent full time Pharmacy Assistant for our Hamiota location. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and adds value to our small business by assisting with the operation of the retail pharmacy and patient care.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Accept new written prescription orders and refill prescriptions
    • Verify all data on the prescription
    • Verify and input third-party coverage information
    • Verify quantities for filling
    • Scan and enter new prescription information into Kroll pharmacy database
    • Third Party adjudication
    • Preparing all formats of prescriptions for final checking
    • Report any actual or perceived issues concerning the dispensing of prescriptions to the pharmacist
    • Handling customer prescription pick up
    • Place and receive orders for maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
    • Prepare and reconcile third party insurance claims and records

Qualifications:

    • Previous assistant experience an asse, but not required
    • Proficient computer/data/entry skills
    • Previous experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Possess strong, independent problem-solving skills
    • Available to work regular shifts 4-5 days per week
    • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment
    • Customer focused and high degree of tact and diplomacy
